Karen Mackenzie
Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts
Karen's pensions career began in 1977. She qualified as an Associate of the Pensions Management Institute in 1988 and a Fellow in 1995. Karen founded KHPMC in January 1989 and is responsible for the management of KHPMC. Karen works for both small and large clients as pensions manager and secretary to the trustees. She has expertise in the administration and management of both defined benefit and defined contribution schemes.
Her Key Skills include: Pension scheme management, implementing auto-enrolment, implementing salary sacrifice, secretary to scheme trustees, establishing new pension arrangements, merging and closing pension schemes, outsourcing to third parties, review and selection of advisers, training pensions administrators.

Sarah Chambers
Studying to become a Member of the Pensions Management Institute
Sarah joined KHPMC in 1991 and has worked on numerous defined benefit schemes in insurance companies, third party administrators and in-house administered schemes. She has dealt with all aspects of administration, either alone or as part of a team and prepares papers for trustee and investment committee meetings on a regular basis.
Her skills include: Benefit calculations & benefit statements, data cleansing and data research, final salary scheme administration, pension increases, procedure manuals, review of administration, trustee papers and reports.

Heather Spence
Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development
Heather started working in pensions administration in early 2008, after a career break that included a spell living in the Far East. Prior to that, she worked in HR, Payroll and Benefits for 17 years both in the public and private sector. During that period and since 2008 she has administered final salary and money purchase pension schemes.
Her key skills include: Money purchase scheme administration, final salary scheme administration, preparation of papers for trustee meetings and investment committees.

Mary Spittle
Mary has worked in pensions since 1986, the first 16 years for an in-house defined benefit scheme dealing with all aspects of benefit calculations and data integrity. Since 2000 she has worked for KHPMC for a variety of high profile clients, covering areas such as scheme manager's maternity leave, clearing calculation backlogs, data cleansing and testing. Most recently, Mary has been working as secretary to the trustees of a small defined benefit scheme with newly formed hybrid and DC sections.
Her key skills include: Pensions administration management, final salary scheme administration, benefit calculations, benefit troubleshooting, benefit statement production, pension increases, data cleansing and testing, secretary to scheme trustees and various committees.

Phil Naughton
Member of British Computer Society
Phil started working in the field of pension administration in February 2007, after 18 years as an IT analyst and developer. Since then he has worked for both small clients with no permanently employed pension staff and large clients with in-house pension teams. He is familiar with many elements of administration of both defined benefit and defined contribution schemes, and retains a specialism in procedures, systems and data.
His Key Skills include: Implementing auto-enrolment, data cleansing, data extracts, pension increases, pension system development, implementing salary sacrifice, procedure manuals, benefit calculations and benefit statements.
